Great when it works. But usually don't.

Cut off in the middle of whatever is playing. Usually when I have the opportunity to get laid and kills the mood while I figure out what's wrong and go to bed without. Which I could do anyway and saved thousands of dollars. Looking into Sonos even though I wasted money hardwiring my house.

Failed Audio matrix Switch

I purchased the home 2 years ago with an existing Control 4 system. The previous owner had the system installed and was a part-time resident. The house sat empty for 2 years so the equipment was rarely used. I have had multiple $1000 repairs. Latest is an Audio Matrix for $2600, part only. Truly, this equipment is junk, Do not waste your time or money on poorly designed and manufactured products. Company totally unethical and does not stand behind its products and seems only interested in selling replacement parts.

You spend thousands of pounds on this system and it always has problems. And you need to call the engineer to fix these issues several times a year which costs even more. I would not recommend it to anyone. Its THE worst system. Its made to rip people off.

I have four homes that are equipped by this System now I'm having trouble with the dimmer units . I tried everything to find that spare part, no one, no dealer, nothing . I think I lost my money.

Cheap Equipment

The equipment that Control4 and its parent company SnapOne is putting out is all cheap hardware made in China. There equipment all starts to fall apart once the warranty period ends. You are paying a premium for junk equipment. We have had multiple controllers fail, multiple amps, audio matrix, remotes, light switch's all fail within the first year and on the second year the same thing. This is really frustrating becuase our AV integrator always steps up but this is not normal with hardware. A word of advise is to stay away from this junk

Drained and Broke

This is the most unconscionable company with horrible contractors and business ethics par with theft.

They installed Control 4 to my garbage disposal! They installed dimmer lights to my basement stairwell.

They put light switches that you could never get to inside my soffits.

And if you want to say its all my dealers fault, who gave him a license to sell Control 4? And what customer service person can help you other than your dealer?

There isnt one and you are 100% screwed after you give them the initial payment and they take over your house, then your life, then frankly your happiness.

This is no exaggeration.

How they are still in business is Intriguing to me.

I am currently deciding if I want to spend another 50k suing them for my life back and my money. Even if it cost more than Id win, itd be worth it based on principal.

Preferred solution: Return my entire house back to it’s original working order with a replacement of all speakers that will work without Control 4, all TV’s and speakers and lights working as they did before control 4 and a refund of my money for product that was ridiculous

I feel your pain. It costs more for a dealer to add a basic DVD player than the player itself. It’s a true joke Control4.

I would like to report the dealer Fernando Canedo from the company Integrate Home technologies, he did program and did all cables and it never works, I have so many problems with it. I contact other dealers, and they Ask me to buy more equipment. This company was double charging me in companion with an employee to double charge I have proof of the scam they were doing. Thanks to all this I had massive damage in my house with someone who tried to fix the cables. All dealers I hire say the work done by other was horribly done. I am very mad with this system.

Not that I am defending or advocating for Control4, but it sounds like your issue lies with the dealer and not the product.

9 year long 100k nightmare corporate Control 4 says hey its like blaming Pillsbury for burning the crescent rolls! You need to get your money back from the installer! The CERTIFIED Control 4 installer. I guess its fun to make lame *** comical analogies about crescent rolls when youre not the one out 100k already and another 50k to return everything to its original working order.

We have now had our Control4 system for three years, having paid $80,000 to have it installed when the house was built. If there were any way I could have it taken out and get my money back I would do it in a heartbeat. The system constantly has some sort of glitch in an aspect of it. We live with it as long as we can stand it and finally give in and call the installer to come and diagnose and fix the problem. The system will then work for a day or two and some other glitch will pop up. It has become beyond frustrating and there seems to be no permanent fix to any of it. All I can say is buyer beware.

Same here, multiple issues with sound dropping out and Control 4 parts failing. I wish I could get mine taken out and get the money back. The dealer never answers too

I have a Sony STR-DA2800ES Receiver with full Control4 automation. Yesterday the receiver got a firmware update which unregistered it from the control4 system. I reached out to my Dealer for help with the 10-digit registration code needed to re-register the receiver or also known the Control4 Activation License(C4-SO-STR-Activation). The dealer can find this info very easy in the Composer Pro. The response from the dealer was: "It doesnt work like that. $195 covers the trip fee and 1hr of time. Its the minimum option". They're telling me that they won't give me the license number for my receiver, because they want to make additional profit...

I have had the system for 6-8 years and it did work well for the first few years. Then we had remote issues and had to have a system update. Another couple of years and now the remote will not do anything. The want a minimum of $400 just to come out. I cannot see spending and spending.
