Resolved: Control4 iPhone App After iOS Update
The controller was updated to work with the new app. A few glitches with my scenes were fixed by a direct contact with Control 4. I am now a happy camper.
Control 4 reached out to me, called me directly, took control of my situation and everything is fixed. Thank you.
The new update for iPhone will no longer support 32 bit technology which is what the app runs on. So my dealer calls Control4 support who tells him I need to uninstall the new iOS update and go back. Problem is that Apple will not allow you to do that. Control4 says tough cookies.
I think it is ridiculous that Control4 cannot fix this. I also can no longer use the web navigator to control my system. It will not connect to my system.
Control4 says my controller, which is about 7 years old, can no longer be updated and if I want to control my lights via the web I will need to purchase a new controller for $1,200. You suck Control4.

Same issues for me ...it seems this Industry is filled with companies that are unreliable...I can’t get anyone to timely or even semi timely respond or get back to me...or show up when they say they will...I sometimes wait a month or more to hear back ... there has to be a company out there ( on Long Island ) that is semi professional...to call back within a few days...to show up when they say they will....to be somewhat courteous.....what is it about this industry that creates this unprofessionalism? I have many friends who feel exactly as I do...to me it is just bad business management...they all claim to be so busy....hire more people ....be somewhat courteous....very disconcerting...

MONEY PITT
The biggest oversell ever; constantly draining my bank account to keep our system up and running. My current and soon to be past dealer is now holding me hostage for cash up front for eight hours pay for a service call; he says he will refund the difference after a four hour minimum.
What a crook! I have been through four different dealers already and each time I need a new one, it costs me 8-16 hours for the new dealer to 'figure out' what our system does. Each dealer I have used ends out going out of the Control 4 business because they cannot keep up with the minimum sales required to hold their licence.
I personally have figured out how to program and maintain my own system but I cannot get a hold of the control program as an end user. Control 4 is holding us hostage with their system.

Control4 not worth the hassle + doesn’t work with FIOS
Defective software causes Control4 to fail requiring updates that cannot be done by customer. It simply shut down because of various bugs.
In addition, it does not control FIOS without significant customization. Buttons on remote and searching for programs are useless

My dealer can not update drivers for my Garage Door and new TVs
My dealer can not update drivers for my Garage Door and new TVs. They have spent hours to resolve this with no success.
Every time they call, hey can not resolve the issue or I get a hourly charge from my dealer who has now stopped supporting Control 4 due to the inconsistency of support. I can not believe that when a dealer calls them it takes literally HOURS and 9 times out of 10 the issue is left unresolved. My issue is not with my dealer but rather Control 4.
There is a significant lack of customer service form Control 4 not my dealer. Hope this helps others.

My name is michael smith and here's my phone number for anyone to call me: 404-509-****. This control 4 system is the worst thing I have ever experienced.
Can't get tv or stereo to work, ever. The temperature system has never worked and you cant call up the system remotely, ever, and it never ever, not even once, has worked as advertised, ever. This is big piece of crap. We have a Sonia system that works perfectly at our lake house at lake O'Conner Georgia (only for stereo system).
Our main house is in atlanta Georgia. We spent $40k on the contril 4 control system for our main house. We've now had it 2 1/2 years. It still doesn't work, tv, stereo, always a lot of effort.
My wife don't let me get sonos for our main house because we spent so much money on this piece crap system. We have fights all the time, mostly because it was her idea to have this piece of crap. Also, the company, control 4, won't answer calls when you call to find out why they won't update to something that will work. You might find me on other blogs and internet sights because I'm mad as *** and I'm finally going to get even by letting everyone know how bad this system is.
Btw, I'm from Utah to start with, and am disappointed that a Utah company is so bad. Mike smith.
Don't buy.
Weve had control 4 for our TV only in our brand new home since 2010. Always something wrong.
Techs have to come out every other month to fix SOMETHING. They charge $75/hr. They keep telli ng me the best fix is to spend another $5000 to upgrade the system which will end up not working in another 2 years.
We spent $10000 to buy the system 7 years ago and im supposed to spend another $5000?!!! Dont buy!!!!

Constant problems
This system sucks. Do NOT get it.
I have it in both my homes. And there is ALWAYS something wrong I am selling a home n have folks from Palm Beach coming to view a $6 million dollar home. I tried to log in to lower AC, put music on, set the lighting etc as the house is fully automated and the control 4 server is down. REALLY.
In the middle of a work day! WTF This is just one issue! There have been issues that occur EVERY OTHER DAY in one of the houses! Key pads don't work.
Drivers burned out Remotes don't work Wall screens go black n need replacing I have spent thousands of dollars constantly having my AV remotely dial in to fix things when it ALL relates to CONtrol4. Things were so bad the regional manager out of Atlanta cane to my home.
He was so embarrassed DO NOT invest in this system !! Save urself thousands of dollars
